ARE YOU READY FOR THE EIGHTIES - AGAIN!!!
For some this will be an exciting new look and for others maybe one they would rather forget!! The big shoulder pads are back, along with the poodle curls and mullets, and Annie Lennox inspired day-glo makeup. It was all over the catwalks with models sporting the adrogenous looks of Grace Jones and walking to the beat of Eighties soundtracks.
The final show at New York Fashion Week was that of Marc Jacobs and the shoulder pads couldn’t have been bigger.
And then at London Fashion Week nowhere was it more evident than at Ashley Williams, where models sported ra-ra shorts, neon fleeces, tie-dye dungarees and cycling shorts.
There were puffball mini-dresses and graphic tights at Molly Goddard and pin-stripe power suits and larger than life shoulders at Gareth Pugh that proved clothes inspired by the decade aren’t going away anytime soon.
Of course there were Eighties soundtracks to match. The most notable of which set the tone for Christopher Bailey’s final Burberry collection where models stormed the runway wearing shell suits made of silk, visors and tulle party dresses to the sounds of Bronski Beat and The Communards and also his rainbow collection which was a tribute to the LGBTQ community.
And as far as accessories, some of the coolest were spotted this week in London from micro-bags to thigh-high boots.
We have the new season Chloe mini Faye coming soon which we hope you’ll love, and a beautiful porcelain rose/nude coloured GG Marmont Gucci which will be perfect for the Spring/Summer season so keep an eye out on our social media.
